Star of the Week: Anne!

Hello Gold Star Revolution Squad and welcome to Gold Star Friday! It's time to announce our Star of the Week!

My very strong preference is to choose our Star of the Week from reader nominations! However, I will nominate the Star of the Week when there are no reader nominations to pick from, which is the case this week.

I would really love to hear about the fabulous people in your life, so please send me your nominations, and please see the end of this post for more details on how to do that!

All recipients of the Star of the Week award who live in the US can choose to receive a free gift from my Gold Star Award Winner collection** on Zazzle!

This week, I am proud to present the Gold Star of the Week award to my amazing friend Anne!

I met Anne not all that long ago in the grand scheme of things. We met for the first time at the end of October 2019, just a few months before the start of the pandemic.

Anne and I were introduced to each other by a mutual friend. Anne had just moved from Boston to Raleigh when we met. And believe it or not, Anne and I had once worked at the same place in Boston (the Massachusetts Appeals Court), but a couple of decades apart!

Our mutual friend Maggi has had a long career at the Appeals Court, so she was there both when I worked there 20 years ago and when Anne worked there much more recently.

Maggi knew that Anne was moving to Raleigh, and Maggi is a fabulous friend, so she got the wheels turning for Anne and me to meet!

And very quickly, a friendship was formed! Anne is an incredibly awesome person, and I am so glad that Maggi introduced us!! 😊

Anne and I weren't able to spend much time together after we met because of the pandemic. Nevertheless, Anne has already had a huge impact on my life!

From the outset, she was very interested in hearing all about my walking tour business, and she has been super supportive of the business in the short time that we have known each other!

Anne is originally from North Carolina, and she has a number of family members and friends living in the Raleigh area. So for her birthday in both March 2020 and March 2021, Anne made the decision to book a private walking tour with her family and friends as part of her birthday celebrations! I was so honored that she asked me to play a role in the festivities!!

Anne will always hold a special place in my heart because her birthday tour was the absolute last tour that I conducted in March of 2020 before I closed the tour business for 7 months due to Covid. 💗

And here is a pic that was taken at the Governor's Mansion when the group came together one year later for Anne's 2021 birthday tour:

Anne also made sure to check in on me throughout the pandemic. She sent me texts periodically, which was really sweet considering that we hadn't known each other for very long before the Covid lockdown/restrictions began.

Another thing that is awesome about Anne is that she recently started a side hustle! Her new project is a wood burning and wood painting business called WoodWorth Burns!

I would be thrilled if you would check out her website and follow WoodWorth Burns on Instagram. I know that she is totally enjoying this new endeavor, and I am SO psyched for her!!! She is in the process of making a sign for me right now!

Here is a selfie that Anne and I took on the day that we met so that we could send it to our friend Maggi who introduced us:

Anne is a warm, caring, supportive, and enthusiastic person, and I look forward to getting to know her even better now that the Covid restrictions have been lifted here in North Carolina. I know that our friendship will only get stronger over time!!

I am so happy to present Anne with this week's award! Please join me in congratulating her as our Star of the Week! ⭐
