Stars of the Week: Elizabeth & Brian!

Hello Gold Star Revolution Squad and welcome to Gold Star Friday! It's time to announce our Star of the Week!

My very strong preference is to choose our Star of the Week from reader nominations! However, I will nominate the Star of the Week when there are no reader nominations to pick from, which is the case this week.

I would really love to hear about the fabulous people in your life, so please send me your nominations, and please see the end of this post for more details on how to do that!

All recipients of the Star of the Week award who live in the US can choose to receive a free gift from my Gold Star Award Winner collection** on Zazzle!

This week there are two Stars of the Week, and they are a real blast from my past!

Exactly 10 years ago today, I performed the wedding ceremony for our stars, Elizabeth and Brian!

I have been an ordained minister since 2003, and I have performed many wedding ceremonies since my ordination. But during the pandemic, I essentially retired from the wedding industry, and I am now focusing on other things.

Nevertheless, I absolutely loved my time working as a wedding officiant, mainly because I got to work with SO many wonderful couples over the years!!!

Weddings are such joyous occasions, and it was an incredible honor for me to be included in one of the biggest days of so many people's lives! I will forever appreciate having those fabulous opportunities!

Honestly, I never would have thought to name Elizabeth and Brian as Stars of the Week if I had not received an interesting email out of the blue a few days ago entitled "We made it 10 years!" The email was from Brian, and it was very sweet.

Brian started off the email by saying that I most likely wouldn't remember him and Elizabeth, but I totally did remember them because the day that they got married (in an outdoor ceremony) was SO hot!!! I don't think that I could ever forget it!

Brian said that their 10th anniversary was just around the corner (i.e., today, June 18th!). He very nicely thanked me for the part that I played in the wedding, and then he said that he had a favor to ask me.

He told me that he and Elizabeth had somehow lost the computer file that contained their wedding ceremony. Switching computers and email addresses multiple times over the course of a decade had caused them to lose track of it along the way. Brian said that the ceremony went by in such a blur that they couldn't really remember much about it.

Now that they are celebrating their 10th anniversary, they really wanted to be able to revisit the ceremony and read the exact wording of it. Brian said that he thought it was a long shot, but that he was contacting me because he hoped that I might still have a copy of the ceremony.

Well, Brian and Elizabeth were in luck! I am a bit of a stickler when it comes to maintaining records, and I keep electronic copies of every wedding ceremony that I have ever performed. So I was able to email a copy of the file to them! I was thrilled to be able to assist them!!

I thought it was absolutely wonderful that they wanted to remember the specifics of their ceremony after this many years. I don't think that many couples would be thinking along those lines. Very romantic, right???

I only have one picture from that ceremony, and I guess it's more a photo of me than it is a photo of Brian and Elizabeth. I wish that you could see Brian's face, but this photo will have to do! Or maybe it's better that we can't see him because he had buckets of sweat pouring down his face in the extreme heat!! 😂

It made me so happy to hear from Brian unexpectedly this week, and I am excited to present Elizabeth and Brian with this week's award! Please join me in congratulating them as our Stars of the Week ⭐⭐, and in wishing them a happy 10th anniversary as well!
