For this Tune Up Tuesday, I thought it would be fun to consider what your super talent or superpower is. Everyone has at least one!
I think that we often overlook our unique skills, qualities, etc. We tend to think of them as not being a big deal, but I think it's time for some appreciation in this area!
I'll start us off on this topic by telling you about my husband Tom's secret talents. He is absolutely fabulous at parallel parking! He can fit a car into almost any space quickly and easily! This is SO not my superpower!
Tom also has an uncanny knack for being able to guess what year a popular song was released. We play this game a lot with songs that we randomly hear on the radio.
And, just this past weekend, I learned that Tom and actress Glenn Close share a similar secret talent! I think that Tom might not be thrilled with me saying what that talent is here, so if you want to know what it is, check out this article from Parade Magazine. Scroll down almost all the way to the bottom of the article to the section heading "Secret Talent!" (Hint: it's not the talent related to horses, it's the other one!) Tom really does have some amazing talents, which I appreciate very much! 😊
Other people I know have some great talents as well! A friend of mine says that hers is that she often knows what people will say before they say it. Wouldn't that be an awesome superpower to have?! Another friend is a master Rock-Paper-Scissors player and has even won a couple of tournaments. Very cool!
So what is my secret talent, you ask? I have only one that I can think of, which is remembering dates! Mostly birthdays, but I'm also pretty good at remembering wedding anniversaries and other significant dates in the lives of my family and friends. I sometimes even remember the birthdays of my friends' spouses, grandchildren, etc.
I'm not quite as good at it now as I was in my younger days, but I'm still a pretty powerful force to be reckoned with! If you tell me what your birthday is, there is a very good chance that I will remember it for the rest of my life!
